Steeltown Hoedown
Steeltown Hoedown is a day-long retreat full of workshops and lessons, socializing, and most of all, dancing!
Saturday, October 24th; 9:15 am - 9:30 pm; Sherwood Events Center
We are thrilled to welcome guest instructors, Sara from the D.C. Rawhides, and Daniel from Austin, TX! Each guest instructor will be teaching three sessions.
What will the day look like?
Registration 9:15 - 9:45
Welcome and announcements 9:45 - 10:00
Ten lesson slots on two dance floors 10:00-3:30 (30-minute lunch break)
Dinner Break and Reviews 3:30-5:00
TWO DANCE FLOORS OPEN 5:00 - 9:00
Final Dances 9:00 - 9:30 (must be out of the venue by 10 pm)
What are the lessons?
Beginner Line Dance, Nightclub Two Step, Two Step, and West Coast Swing
Improver Line Dance, West Coast Swing
Intermediate Two Step (2 sessions)
Advanced Line Dance
What Else Do I Need To Know?
Participants will be asked to register via our online form. We do have a cap for the venue, so please don’t delay. Register as soon as you can. Registration will open in two phases:
Pittsburgh regulars: open August 19 through September 23
Friends from other dance clubs and cities: open September 2 through September 23
There is a registration fee of $50 which will help defer the cost of the venue. Registration includes attendance at all workshops and the evening social dance, continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
There is a strict policy that alcohol may not be sold on the property, so the evening dance will be BYOB. (Beer and wine only are permitted)
Steeltown Hoedown T-shirts will be available for pre-order at registration. Cost is $20.
There is plenty of parking at Sherwood Event Center. It’s a beautiful venue with lots of dance space (indoor and outdoor). Attendees should plan to bring:
A bottle for water / A cooler with beverages for the evening dance
A change of clothes/shoes for comfort (dancing will be indoors and outdoors)
Sherwood Event Center can be reached by taking the 69 bus to Ardmore Blvd + Bryn Mawr FS
